Inside Ordinary People: A Modern Classic

Set against the backdrop of Barack Obama’s historic 2008 election and the tragic death of Michael Jackson, Ordinary People is an immersive, lyrical exploration of love, parenthood, sex, grief, and identity. The story unfolds in London, tracking the lives of two couples at a critical crossroads. Melissa and Michael reside in a crooked Victorian house in South London, struggling with the emotional distance that parenthood often brings. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Damian live in the suburbs, where the weight of grief and unexpressed dreams threatens to dismantle their seemingly comfortable domestic reality.

Diana Evans delivers a poignant, emotionally resonant narrative that speaks deeply to the daily battles of ordinary individuals trying to maintain their identities.
